Description

While drive assistance is turned off, exiting car make the engine turn off. Often I need the engine to be still running so that I can quickly jump in and drive away.

    Place the gear in Neutral (N) to keep the motor alive

    Indeed this makes sence. In reality, exiting car while gear is set will shut down the engine. Case closed.
