Description

In the stable version of Arma Reforger, an armored vehicle consistently withstands incoming rounds when it is stationary. The armor glass and armor plates correctly absorb the impacts without being penetrated.

However, as soon as the vehicle starts moving, the same ammunition immediately penetrates the armor. This happens even though there is no visible damage or destruction of the armored glass beforehand.

The same behavior can also be reproduced on vanilla vehicles. The second video demonstrates the issue using the LAV-25.

In general, even if the character is enclosed inside a box made of colliders to rule out direct penetration, the issue still occurs in the same way.

The problem appears to be related specifically to vehicle movement. A possible cause may be a desynchronization between the vehicle’s world position and the character’s world position while the vehicle is moving.

Please refer to the attached videos for a detailed demonstration of the issue.

@l909 in the attached video you can see that they tested this on 1.7.0.54

In such case the ticket should have been created in the main section with the correct version - as the ticket version shows 1.7.0.41 and this is the experimental space

    😭
"The best collider setup (in our opinion) is found in Prefabs\Vehicles\Wheeled\M1240A1_MATV\M1240A1_MATV_Base.et. Penetration occurs just below the windshield. The projectile first contacts UTM_Front_Horn, then passes through UTM_Interior and hits the player. Additionally, penetration sometimes happens randomly through the side doors.

The door and hull colliders have been reworked – gaps between them and the main armour have been eliminated. This applies to: UTM_Door_Front_Left, UTM_Door_Rear_Left, UTM_Door_Front_Right, UTM_Door_Rear_Right, and UTM_Cabin_Outside.

The most serious issue we have is with the example Prefabs\Vehicles\Wheeled\M998\M1151_armed_CROWS_M2.et. Since patch 1.6, during movement in multiplayer, the roof colliders (Roof) are simply ignored, or the penetration behavior becomes unpredictable. All tests were conducted using the M855 round. In ServerDiag, we ran a test while colliders were visually visible – everything seemed correct; they move properly and do not disappear. The problem is solely with the penetration itself."

    Additionally:
It doesn't matter what the thickness of the armor is, at least 15 or 25 mm.Random breakthroughs occurred.
