And a quick question: Does anyone know why the M2 with the M3 tripod doesn't have the T&E mechanism? Because without it, the gun could literally rotate 360 degrees! :D

I mean, like, yeah, the recoil is big, but I'm just hating that you can visually see the jumping around and it's just very annoying and ugly as hell, and it's very weird because it looks like teleporting, like if the game, every shot, just randomly chose pixels on the screen and teleported the weapon barrel to it.

Apologies for commenting on my own post—I couldn't find an option to edit the main description!

After thinking it through further from a realistic and technical perspective, my initial concept needed a slight refinement regarding the equipment/backpack system. Below is the updated and finalized proposal:

[Feature Request] Modular Crew-Served Weapons & Asymmetric Tripod Logistics System
    CORE VISION:

Current static weapon mechanics simplify crew-served weapons into generic backpack items, lacking visual realism and Cold War doctrine asymmetry.

This proposal overhauls heavy/medium static weapons into a modular system where components retain realistic 3D models on character back/shoulder slots, integrate proper weight distribution, and introduce faction-specific mechanics for the US and USSR.

    Core Request & Visual Mechanics

    • Physical 3D Models: Replace generic canvas backpacks with actual 3D models of folded tripods and barrels mounted on the player's back/shoulder.

    • Secondary Weapon Slot Utilization: Allow lightweight components (barrels, GPMG tripods) to occupy the Secondary Weapon Slot, allowing players to retain their standard backpacks (reflecting real-world pack-frame integration).

    Proposed System Structure

    1. Medium Machine Guns (PKM & M60) – Lightweight Support

    • Concept: Lightweight GPMG tripods (Soviet 6T5 for PKM ~4.5kg, US M122 for M60 ~7kg) fold compactly.

    • Mechanic: Folded GPMG tripods occupy the Secondary Weapon Slot without removing the player's Backpack.

    • Gameplay Impact: The Assistant Gunner carries a full backpack of ammo belts while carrying the tripod. Deploying it converts standard GPMGs into stable long-range suppression platforms (800m+).

    2. US Faction: M2HB (.50 BMG) – 3-Man Defense System (~58 kg Total)

Reflects heavy US tripod doctrine (~38 kg gun + ~20 kg M3 tripod). Requires a 3-man crew while retaining backpacks:

    • Gunner (P1): M2HB Receiver/Barrel in Secondary Slot (~38 kg) + Small Backpack (1 Ammo Can). Heavy stamina penalty.

    • Assistant Gunner (P2): M3 Tripod on back (~20 kg) + Medium Backpack (1 Ammo Can).

    • Ammo Bearer (P3): Large Backpack (2–3 extra Ammo Cans) for sustained fire support.

FEATURE: M63 Anti-Aircraft Mount (Heavy Base Fortification)

    • Concept: Specialized ~65 kg AA mount with high elevation (up to 85°) and 360° rotation.

    • Modular Transport: Requires Supply Truck transport OR a 3-man squad where each piece occupies a Backpack Slot:

      1. Base Pedestal & Leg Assembly (P1 Backpack Slot)

      2. Cradle & Elevation Mechanism (P2 Backpack Slot)

      3. M2HB Gun Body + Ammo Can (P3 Secondary Slot + Backpack Slot)

    • Role: Erectable on flat rooftops, watchtowers, or bunker balconies as a permanent AA point-defense nest.

    3. USSR Faction: NSV Utěs (12.7mm) – 2-Man Mobile Strike (~41 kg Total)

Reflects lightweight Soviet design (~25 kg gun + ~16 kg 6T7 tripod). Allows an effective 2-man crew setup:

    • Gunner (P1): NSV Body/Barrel in Secondary Slot (~25 kg) + Backpack (1 Ammo Can, 50 rounds).

    • Assistant/Ammo Bearer (P2): 6T7 Tripod on back (~16 kg) + Backpack (2 Ammo Cans, 100 rounds).

    • Deployment & Limitations:

      • Setup: 5–8 second deployment into a low-profile prone stance (high concealment in foliage).

      • Fixed Arc: Mechanically locked to a 25° firing cone. Repositioning requires dismounting, physically lifting, and resetting the tripod angle.
