I am reporting a severe texture and asset streaming/rendering issue on Xbox Series X that has been present since the release of DayZ 1.29.
The issue is particularly noticeable when entering towns and cities, approaching large buildings, turning the camera quickly, or moving through areas with a high number of structures and objects.
Buildings, windows, walls, trees, bushes and other environmental assets can remain at extremely low-detail LODs or appear to be missing for several seconds before their proper textures/models load.
In some situations, entire buildings or parts of buildings can appear to be invisible or extremely low quality at relatively short distances.
The problem is not simply normal texture pop-in. The delay can be long enough to directly affect gameplay.
Gameplay impact
This creates a serious competitive/gameplay problem on Xbox Series X.
For example, when approaching an apartment building or large town, an opponent inside or behind a building can potentially be visible to them before the building and its textures have properly rendered for the player.
Windows can also take several seconds to become properly rendered, making it difficult to determine whether a player is inside a building.
This can result in:
Players or buildings becoming visible only after several seconds.
Extremely low-resolution/“Play-Doh” looking textures at short distances.
Buildings or environmental objects temporarily appearing invisible.
Windows and interiors taking a long time to render.
Severe LOD transitions when turning the camera.
Short freezes/stutters while assets appear to be loading.
The problem becoming particularly severe in large towns/cities.
A significant disadvantage during PvP because an enemy may already be able to see the player while the player's environment has not finished rendering.
