What happened?

Hello !

I'm reaching out to share a screenshot of my DayZ graphics settings.

Please note that in the screenshot, the game is running in windowed mode only because I needed to take the screenshot. I normally play in fullscreen mode.

With these settings, the game runs well overall (around 150 FPS on average), but I'm still experiencing some stuttering from time to time.

Would you be kind enough to let me know which graphics settings I should change to reduce stuttering as much as possible? Since it's your game, I thought I'd ask for your advice.

My PC specs are:

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

NVIDIA RTX 4090

32 GB RAM (3200 MHz)

I play at 1440p on a 240 Hz monitor.

Thank you very much for your time and help!

Reproduction steps

Please keep in mind that I mainly play on KarmaKrew servers, which only use light mods. However, I experience the same issues on official servers with no mods installed.

Hey @traqu , I've reported this before and I have tested numerous configurations including your exact setup.

There's a couple different kinds of stuttering you can experience.

If I were you I would test your temps, average FPS, and 1% lows over the course of 30 mins in different environments on official.

If you want to take an extra step, I believe AMD has a utility to see core/thread utilization.

Often the issue I found with DayZ is that it's very CPU bound, but CPU bound in a specific way.

On CPUs like mine and yours the game tends to core hop, and on top of that, I've never seen DayZ use more than 3-4 cores.

    Things I've seen help:

    • Enable your rams full ram speed

    • Ensure your CPU isn't in a power savings mode

    • Reduce cpu load: Reduce background tasks, lower CPU intense settings like object vis, terrain vis, and shadows.

-------- Obviously, this is guaranteed to be your problems or solutions, but again I've had this exact set up ---------

Another thing you mentioned is KarmaKrew, although KarmaKrew is on the more lightly modded side of "modded", it is still notable pressure on your CPU.

I would do testing on official to ensure consistency.
