Instead of every player having a fully synchronized map with all markers, the master map exists as a server-authoritative asset accessible only at command tents or similar secure locations. This map is the single source of truth for all markers and intel, editable only by those with permissions.
Marker Ownership and Visibility
The CO and Group/Squad Leaders (SLs) have permissions to edit and remove markers on the master map directly, whether at the command tent or remotely.
SLs' personal maps act as read-only copies of the master map, showing all their members' markers.
SLs can right-click their members' markers on their personal maps to send them to the CO for approval without needing to be physically at the command tent.
SLs' own personal markers are automatically sent for CO approval.
The CO's personal map displays all SLs' unapproved markers, allowing oversight and final approval to the master.
Squad members see only their group's map and markers but can view the master map when at the command tent, though they cannot edit it.
Scoped synchronization, interaction-triggered updates, and marker prioritization optimize network load and maintain clear command authority, balancing performance with meaningful tactical information sharing.
