IMHO it is a feature that takes away from the gameplay. Here are a few of examples/reasons why it irritates me:
I attacked a base and killed 5 enemies, but ended up dying in the end. That caused me to have lower rank than I came with, It feels like I regressed even though I made some progress for the team. If we lose XP for dying, we should gain XP for kills, but I understand why we don't. We shouldn't be aware if we killed an enemy or not, so therefore XP loss for dying should be removed.
I was defending MOB that was being camped by enemy and kept being killed and losing rank. I went from Sergeant to Corporal and was unable to pick up two rocket launchers to defend the base anymore (the bigger backpack required Sergeant). I lost access to items I felt like I earned.
This system makes your rank volatile, constantly getting promoted and demoted. It makes you unsure if you should save your load-out with items that you worked for but might not qualify for after death.
I therefore ask you to remove this. IMHO dying, losing your inventory, having to spawn far away and use supplies is punishing enough
