Mission

Is it modded?

Description

After over 1.5k hours played, I've seen a lot of improvements. For the most part all are well received. Here are few items I feel are worth considering based on my experience and those around me. These recommendations are primarily for official gameplay.

1) All vehicles should be able to maneuver up hill terrain, major torque adjustments required for large vehicles.

2) Trailers for the supply trucks and/or towable equipment like portable radio extenders, supply trailers that can be pulled by construction trucks, fuel trailers pulled by repair trucks, etc.

3) More value to ranking, in most games several player reach top rank, there is barely any benefit to gaining Captain and Major. A shift should be considered, at the beginning of a match, team leaders should be able to place items for construction but Privates shouldn't have much ability to do anything. Corporal can unlock everything currently available for Private and shift all things back 1 rank. Attack choppers should be for captains. BTR for Lt. and BDRM for Cpt. Other similar changes at your discretion but the point is make it worth ranking up, slow down the overall progression.

4) Heavy armor vehicles need better resistance to rpgs and armor piercing rounds. not proof, but resistant. One rocket shouldn't destroy a tank.

5) An option for a ground troops to breech a vehicle and drop a grenade, this can be class specific or require equipment but should exist.

6) Engineers should have an increased experience gain on base building, on a per unit basis, not the assigned objectives, that experience is sufficient. this should be applied to all classes, transport gets bonus for troop and supplies transport, recon bonuses during overwatch, increased kill experience for attack classes. Encourage the classes to do their jobs more.

7) To extend on class specifics, vehicle spawning: Medics can only spawn ambulances, transport and engineers can spawn supply and transport trucks, etc.

8) Only team leads should be able to spawn ai at the living quarters.

These are the most notable and most commonly discussed issues, If any or all are implemented, the quality of gameplay would be greatly increased.

There are no 'heavy armour vehicles' or tanks in the game.

AT weapons only typically set the vehicle on fire (therefore destroying the vehicle) if they hit fuel or ammo. How many rockets a vehicle can take is most dependent on where you are hitting the vehicle.

I think No. 2 is the most interesting, but not going to be implemented in reforger. I mostly don't agree with the others.

Most of the players refer to the vehicles as armor or tanks and they're all heavy vehicles. Problem is the American at vehicle will penetrate the hull and kill the driver with the first shot. The vehicle being disabled or damaged in one hit from a rocket isn't unreasonable but the whole crew being decimated instantly is a bit unrealistic in such a vehicle. I am actually surprised you disagree with everything else, you must not have a lot of hours in the game yet. Especially if you don't agree with the first one, I made that number one as I find it to be of the most importance. In Everton there's an mob location that's up hill exit on both sides and one side the supply trucks can't make it up the road you must navigate at an angle and/or through the woods to get up the road. These vehicle in reality have immense torque and while they would be slow they would never roll backwards while driving forward up a hill. They may slide if traction is lost but on the compacted dirt road they should be able to climb fairly easily at low speeds.

LAV-25 stands for Light Armoured Vehicle
BRDM-2 is an armoured scout car.
BTR-70 is an armoured personnel carrier.
You misunderstand the game. There is no problem. If a vehicle in real life can stop an AP round at xy distance then in the game it will. If it can't then it won't. it's a milsim game. Same for stopping HEAT rockets. The LAV-25 carries a 25mm chaingun. Both the BTR-70 and the BRDM-2 have very thin armour. Something like a max of 14mm at the front, enough to stop .50 ball ammunition most of the time. The sides are half that. Comparatively, the LAV-25's gun is massively powerful (25x137mm), it's also firing APDS, which is a subcalibre projectile. Not just that, the projectile is made of tungsten. It is absolutely not out of the ordinary for one shot from that to decimate either soviet vehicles crews with shrapnel and projectile core. However if you were talking about rockets, I don't think that's unusual either. The spall is highly likely to hit most if not all of the crew.

For vehicle torque/handling they've just rewritten the code and are still making changes so I don't doubt things will constantly be adjusted as they bring it back up to speed. I definitely think they have made some vehicles much weaker than they should be.

For the record, I don't care for comparing hours, but I have owned the game since release.
