Description

To Reproduce:

  1. Make sure Freelook view is centered with TrackIR. The best way I have found is to ADS then tap ALT.

  2. Climb or descend a ladder & during that time use mouse to look as far left as possible and keep that view. (not freelook is automatically active during this climb action)

  3. When character reaches ground, not the body snaps around to face the far left view.

  4. Now hold ALT and view will snap far left over shoulder (last freelook position from being on ladder)

NOTE: any mouse input during any animation, like getting in a heli, car or vaulting, repairing, will cause this issue. Any mouse movement when Freelook is automatically active, like climbing / descending a ladder or while driving car, repairing or digging will cause this issue. Any mouse movement when Freelook is manually activated, like holding ALT to look around in a heli will cause this issue once you are out of the heli.

The problems

  1. Freelook is automatically active while climbing, vaulting repairing, etc. If you have TrackIR, it does not need to be active unless you hit ALT.

  2. Freelook, regardless of being automatic or induced with ALT, does not recenter itself with the TrackIR view.

I had video on my last report but seems they don't work anymore and I'm not taking the time to make another. Fix your $#/t.

I believe what at least partially is causing this is the mouse and TrackIR "freelooks" become desyncronized and each have their own "center". A temporary way to work past this is to simply unbind the mouse from the four freelook directions. This leaves them always in sync and stops the centering discrepancies.

Since this has been awaiting internal testing since my first report on it over 3 months ago.. maybe even 4, the fix I made will remain local for my own peronsal use. BI can do the leg work on their end and maybe finally release a fix for everyone.
