I had that too. I think that’s just a bug with the shadows, not a downgrade. For me, this only occurred in or near the area where you spawned. The forest would be missing all shadows. If you leave this area and come back to it, it’s completely gone, and the shadows work perfectly fine anywhere else on the map except for the area you spawned in.

In my case, even after driving around in a truck and flying in a helicopter for a while, it didn't get fixed; the resolution remained very low and the scenery looked quite blurry overall—I'm not sure if it's due to the same error.
