Experimental Version

1.8.0.5

Mission

Is it modded?

Description

land mine markers get garbage collected / despawn while mines stay as expected. this makes no sense!

this affects also the stable version - not only the experimental brunch.

I guess, it was not recognized, cause nobody was using this markers. But nowadays - since FIA blow up containers and sneek in the bases - it makes sense to use the markers to show the own side and enemies that areas around containers are ap mined. And the markers are usefull for psyops. but if they get garbage collected - this mine markers make no sense in the game.

I think you need to place the markers directly on the mine, you get an option for that on the mine, so that they stay.

uhh, is that so? ok, than it's my bad and not an bug 😕 mea culpa - i will try.

Actually to be honest i wanted to place them as a warning at areas where indeed no mines are 🙂 - litteraly as false flags to prevent enemies from entering some areas

Mhhh, you still can then only place one mine where you want the marker to be and attach it to that. So it is not a fully false flag but there are also not more mines. And you can also place the marker on AP-Mines. Then happy minelaying 🙂.

Interesting just tested it ingame and yes that is how it works, i never knew you needed to place it directly on the mine with a prompt. The actual function is not well explained ingame.

I also attmepted to use them for both 'false flags', or to mark a freindly side of the road while the potential hostile side is unaware, and just assumed they didn't work right or got cleaned up on garbage cleanup.

Edit: So you can still do 'false flags' and marking roads before hand, but it requires extra steps. You have to place and arm a mine first, place a flag, then disarm the mine and pick it back up. The flag will stick around if done this way.

    Hello.
We have tested this but have found no issues:
As shown from the players photos, the Mine Markers were placed next to the mines . This means that the Markers will be sadly garbage collected from the map (as any other "loose item" that is just lying on the ground).
