When you look at the players list, the icons for roles only show up for players in your faction, however, if you are a commander and you use the operations board, open a base to build on it, then open the players list, you can see all players' role icons. A video demonstration is attached.

Video starts off with the players list menu open normally, then I enter operations mode (map view), where you can't open players (holding P does nothing) (not sure if intentional), then select a base to build on. It is in this GM-like build mode that you can open the players list and see enemy roles.

It's not a significant problem as knowledge of enemy roles means very little, but I'm sure it wasn't intended to work like this.
