On multiple Offical servers , and occasions, I have experienced freezing when moving into a heavily AI populated base mixed with real players. At first you are fine moving in and then as soon as you pull your gun up to take a shot at a player (not AI) the game freezes and you either miss your opportunity, die because you did get a single shot off but miss your shot and then alert the enemy to your position and die.
