Since yesterday’s game update to Arma 3, when using a Bluetooth headset, when I play in MP or dedicated server, the game’s sound degrades.
I think this might be related to the Windows Audio Session API changes. Any time the Bluetooth mic is enabled, the output audio degrades drastically.
Disabling the input device does return the sound back to normal, but I’d certainly need it back on when playing with friends - bringing me back to square one.
I own two headsets and neither support LE audio unfortunately (Skullcandy crushers anc 2 and AirPod pro 2nd gen).
For clarity, before yesterday’s update, I never lost any noticeable sound clarity when playing in MP modes using my Bluetooth headsets.
To further elaborate, when my mic is enabled (or rather, when sound input is enabled via Windows for my headset), the sound degrades within Arma as soon as I enter any MP setting (LAN, dedicated server).
I don’t just mean a little sound degradation either. It’s like the sound of a PS2 game. Hard to describe but this isn’t just a little decrease in sound quality.
The sound only returns to normal in SP modes or within MP modes with my mic disabled (sound input disabled) within Windows. And when Bluetooth is bypassed with a 3.5mm cable.
