The implementation of a renegade faction/rank is great in theory to discourage team killing but when you are playing the game as intended like I was earlier today and end up getting pushed into renegade it completely ruins the fun of the game.

I spawned into a new server as fia, played for a while trying to get some equipment and xp. Didn't kill any fia players or fia ai. Killed a few players in the Russian faction then was killed by Russian ai after killing one of them. Immediately my rank dropped to renegade and when I spawned back in even fia ai was aggro'd on me making it impossible to play or get any equipment because there is no way to gain experience to regain rank. Somethings gotta give here or something is broken. There were at least 10 other players in the server. Experiencing the exact same issue as me.
