In the Microsoft Store / Game Pass PC version (Xbox build), other players can't hear me in proximity VOIP. I can hear them normally. With Input Mode on Voice Activation (threshold near minimum), the voice indicator never triggers. With Push-to-Talk, the mic icon appears on screen, but nobody hears me and zombies don't react. Proximity voice worked for me previously on this PC.

On the same PC, with the same mic and audio settings, Steam DayZ proximity VOIP works: voice transmits and zombies react to it. The problem only happens in the Game Pass build. It appears to be the same issue as T198691, which is still open.

Key observation: after a clean uninstall and reinstall of DayZ and the Xbox app, the Store-app "DayZ" entry is no longer listed under Windows Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone → "Let apps access your microphone." Before the reinstall it was listed, but its last access date was 7/29/2026. The game process does appear under "desktop apps" as "Currently in use." The first-launch microphone permission pop-up never appeared after the reinstall.

Already ruled out:

• Three different mics (XLR mic through an audio interface, a virtual mix device, a USB webcam mic). All fail in Game Pass DayZ and work in other apps.

• Windows default and default communications input set to the working mic; per-app input override for DayZ; exclusive mode toggled.

• Windows mic permissions all On (Microphone access, Let apps access, Let desktop apps access).

• Xbox app Audio input set to the working mic.

• Xbox privacy: voice allowed for Everyone, on Xbox and outside Xbox. Not in a party.

• VPN disconnected: no change.

• DayZ Experimental (Game Pass): same issue.

• Verify and repair, Gaming Services Repair Tool, full reinstall of DayZ and the Xbox app, reboots: no change.

OS: Windows 11 x64

1. Launch DayZ from the Xbox app (Game Pass, PC).

2. Options → Sound → Voice: set Input Mode to Voice Activation, with Activation Threshold near minimum.

3. Join any server and speak into the microphone.

4. Result: the voice indicator never activates.

5. Switch Input Mode to Push-to-Talk, hold the push-to-talk key, and speak near another player.

6. Result: the mic icon appears, but the other player can't hear me.

7. Check Windows Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone: no Store-app "DayZ" entry under "Let apps access your microphone."

My voice transmits in proximity VOIP. Voice Activation triggers when I speak, and nearby players hear me, as they do in the Steam version on the same PC.
