So over the years I noticed many inconsistencies in terms of the textures that belong to the damage state of items. Let me begin by summarise how I think it is intended to work:
Texture A: Pristine, Worn
Texture B: Damaged, Badly Damaged
Texture C: Ruined
I'd say this is how most items work: having three different textures for five different damage states. Now many items don't behave like this, for example:
a) Some items have the texture for "Worn" applied when they are actually "Damaged", so on the first sight you can't see they are damaged. You need to check manually with the mouse hovering over it.
b) Some items have the texture for "Damaged/Badly Damaged" applied when they are actually "Ruined".
c) I believe the AK 74 Mag has different textures for "Pristine" and "Worn" (which is nice, but still inconsistent and the only item I can think of that behaves like this. Would be cool though to see this game-wide for all items!)
d) The BDU Jacket and the Bandana have "Worn" Texture when actually they're "Ruined".
e) Some Face Masks have a "rusty" damage texture instead of a "fabric" looking one.
I don't have all the examples for a) and b) in my head right now, but I encounter them every week, I will add them incrementally here and use this ticket as an ongoing list, but I think you guys need to just assign a person to go through all the game files and check for these inconsistencies... My guess is there are probably 50+ examples of wrongly assigned textures...
There are definitely some Mags and Clothing items that are affected, I'll list them as soon as I encounter them!
