As I'm sure you are aware, there is currently an exploit on the console editions of the game (I play on the Enhanced Xbox Series S version) where players can de-sync themselves and enter 'God Mode', in which the only damage that has any effect on them is explosive (to my knowledge, I have seen reports that melee and crossbows are also effective, but cannot confirm them), and their arms become invisible, which is the clear indicator that they are in this glitch.
This is one of those exploits that can render a game unplayable. In a combat survival game, especially one like DayZ, in which I have survived against all odds in some situations, this ruins that immersion. To enter a fight in which there is no fair way for you to come out on top, unless you have a grenade or M79 Launcher handy, it's demoralising. And it is one of those things that will cause you to lose a chunk of your player base if you do not address it swiftly. I think we are now three months down the line since this exploit came about. In my opinion, that is unacceptable. I won't pretend that I know anything about game coding or fixing things like this, but personally, even an update or an end date in sight to knowing when this will be fixed would make a world of difference.
I love DayZ, and I have every intention on purchasing Badlands and appreciating the hard work of the studio. The trailers and concepts I have seen look amazing. I cannot stand the thought that all of that could be ruined by this exploit not being patched when Badlands drops. And if that is the reality, I simply will not purchase Badlands. My love for this game is not worth the stress that will follow in losing fights and hours of my time to people cheating and making themselves unkillable.
I'm not angry, I am frustrated. I want to enjoy DayZ for what it is, and that's a thoroughly enjoyable and well thought-out survival game. Please make that possible again.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. And please, if you do take this on board, I'm not expecting a fix in the next few hours, but an update to the player base would be welcomed by the majority.
