Hiya, I’ve been playing the Switch 2 version since launch using the right joycon in mouse mode and starting from last night I’ve begun having an issue with using the R button. For some reason it only registers an input while using melee attacks and shooting guns incredibly sporadically. I can press the button 20 times and it’ll maybe register that I’ve pressed it 2-5 times.
At first I thought my controller was having issues but the system’s Input Test mode is showing the button as responding normally. I’ve tried a second pair of joycons and they have the same issue while in mouse mode. I’ve also tried a pro controller and the issue isn’t happening with that at all. I’ve tried reinstalling the game, updating my console/dock/controllers. I also turned off mouse mode in the game settings and the joycons work normally when being used as a regular controller.
While trying to figure out what the issue is I noticed that in mouse mode the R button is acting as if it’s being pressed rapidly when held down - in fighting stance you’ll throw punches constantly while the button is held down, while aiming a weapon you’ll shoot as if you’re spamming the trigger, even with a gun in semi-auto mode. This is not the case with the pro controller or with the joycons’ mouse mode deactivated - a held press of the button will be a single shot or a single thrown punch. It’s like the game thinks the R button in being spammed like crazy, or not showing inputs at all. The button seems to work completely normally when performing other actions, like dragging loot around my inventory, selecting settings under options or changing weapons on the quick select wheel.
Edit: Now holding the ZL button and holding X to reload fires your weapon instead of reloading, in addition to the problems above.
