Server: Official Livonia - 3886 - LA Temp

Date of Incident: September ‎3, ‎2026, ‏‎9:05:28 PM

Was driving around with my wife when a guy open fired on us. At first I thought it was just a player but he unloaded a whole clip into the car and only got my wife, but as i was driving away orbs appeared around me and then i went from full HP to zero and died. I believe the person was hacking. Very unfortunate to see these things on offical.

They are not really hackers. Most of them are just script kiddies who pay for cheats made by someone else. They buy access because they cannot play the game properly without cheating.

BattlEye needs to improve a lot when it comes to detecting cheats in DayZ. The cheat developers are making huge amounts of money selling these programs and subscriptions, so they are constantly updating them to avoid detection.

A lot of modern cheats are also harder to detect because they can interact with game memory and use different methods to hide what they are doing. That is why DayZ developers need to work much more closely with BattlEye and come up with better ways of detecting cheating, instead of only relying on finding known cheat programs.

They should also be looking at player behaviour and server-side information. Things like impossible aim, tracking players through walls, knowing where players are when they should not, strange bullet behaviour, impossible reactions and other abnormal gameplay should all be used as part of the detection system.

Bohemia Interactive should also seriously look at taking legal action against the people creating and selling these cheats. These cheat sellers are making money from damaging the game, ruining servers and affecting legitimate players. Other game companies have taken legal action against cheat developers before, so it should at least be something Bohemia considers.

At the moment it feels like the cheat developers are always one step ahead. DayZ and BattlEye need better detection, better server-side monitoring, faster bans and stronger action against the people actually creating and selling the cheats.

Yeah, it will most likely be deleted but anyway, Yeah, that is exactly the problem. BattlEye by itself is a joke when it comes to catching a lot of the cheats being used now.

Community servers often have far better cheat detection than official servers because they are not relying on BattlEye alone. They use server-side code and admin tools that monitor actual player behaviour, things like impossible shots, abnormal movement, suspicious damage, unusual kill patterns and other actions that should not be possible legitimately.

They are never going to properly detect a lot of these cheats if they keep relying almost entirely on BattlEye. Modern cheats are made specifically to avoid detection, so there needs to be another layer watching what the player is actually doing in-game.

That is what Bohemia should be working on with BattlEye: proper server-side behavioural detection. Don't just try to detect the cheat program.

Community server owners have already shown that this can be done far better with additional server-side monitoring. Official servers should have access to the same kind of detection instead of constantly falling back on "BattlEye is investigating" while obvious cheaters continue playing. Community servers also block vpn connections,

    >They have stated this on their stream that dont ban players for exploits or cheats or hacks on consoles officials for sure

Please, stop spreading false information - you are mixing multiple things together. In case of cheats/hacks players do get punished and are being banned by BattlEye - not the dev team. We never have stated that players are not getting banned for using cheats/third party software hacks.

But once again. You are mixing things up.
They talked about glitch exploiting not actual hacks/cheats. There is a difference.
    This still stands

This has nothing to do with this original post which is related to hacking, not use of in game glitches. Do not derail the conversation and keep it on topic please and as mentioned before - do not spread misinformation.
