Notes is another element of immersion, authentic in-game communication and interaction that I sorely miss. Survivor diaries, bandit taunts, coordinates leading to ambushes, stash locations, and simply meaningless notes.
Notes can be made on pieces of paper with a pen or pencil, which can be found throughout the game.
Pieces of paper can be sorted in a found notebook/diary, which will have slots for them.
Marks/icons on the map can also be left with a pencil or pen. The person who finds the map will see the marks.
A new, interesting and authentic mechanic could be integrated: there's a small chance of finding a map/note with the coordinates of a survivor's stash. After reading this note/map, a stash (buried or unburied container/backpack/crate, or something else) will spawn at those coordinates.
