When playing DayZ on Xbox using a Mouse and Keyboard on M&K-enabled servers, the game currently requires an Xbox wireless controller to remain powered on and actively connected to the profile.
Because the controller is not receiving analog stick or button inputs while playing on M&K, the Xbox controller automatically turns off due to power-saving timeouts. When the controller turns off, DayZ triggers a full-screen "Controller Disconnected" pause overlay. This interrupts gameplay—often during high-stakes inventory management or combat—and forces the player to turn the controller back on simply to resume using the mouse and keyboard.
Suggested Solution:
Allow DayZ to recognize the active Mouse and Keyboard input stream as the primary input device on Xbox so that controller timeouts do not trigger the disconnect overlay, or allow full standalone M&K navigation without requiring the controller to stay powered on. Also there used to be a way to be able to auto sprint on Xbox it was kinda a work around where you would hold shift turn off your controller and it would auto sprint *muah chefs kiss* but I’m not sure about other platforms but it was nice instead of having to hold shift to run across the map if I spawned along the coast now it’s not in there anymore it would be nice to have a button to press on m&k to auto sprint
