What happened?

Hello DayZ team. I have an issue I'm sure has been brought up before, however I have seen a lack of sufficient answers for my issue across the internet, so I set out to find a solution to my issue.

The issue is frame pacing issues and consistent, repeatable FPS drops on DayZ. I have tested this on Vanilla servers and two modded servers, (V+ Deathmatch and the KarmaKrew servers) to make sure this is not a issue specifically tied to a server. I am convinced this is an engine issue tied to not fully utilizing modern hardware, or even an incompatibility issue between modern hardware and the engine itself. I have linked screenshots and performance charts to show the frame latency spikes every 5 or so seconds, some being extremely small, some causing unacceptable stutters. The feel of the game is extremely laggy, even with some of the best PC parts around. The issue is worsened with frequently changing camera positions and moving the mouse around very quickly, however I am pretty sure this is how rendering works anyway in DayZ so I will excuse that issue. I have used a software called CapFrameX to capture frame timings and FPS averages acrosss all my tests. I even tested this on my laptop, which yielded similar results as far as FPS stutters and frame pacing issues go.

Reproduction steps

My Hardware:

- AMD 9070xt

- AMD Ryzen 9700x3d

- 32gb of DDR5 RAM, 6000mhz with a CAS latency of 30

- x870 tomahawk motherboard

- 1TB of SSD storage

- Windows 11

All tests and tweaks that have not solved the issue:

- Vsync, both on and off, game side and AMD software side

- Freesync on the monitor, both on and off

- Setting the games priority higher

- Fullscreen / windowed mode do not make a difference (it should be noted that average FPS is higher on windowed for me, so I use that mode, however it does not stop the stuttering and frame spikes)

- Running the game in compatibility mode

- Turning on / off AMD EXPO in BIOS

- Turning on / off Optimizations for windowed games

- Turning on / off Balanced / performance power plan

- All in game settings set to lowest (improves FPS by a ton but does nothing to the stutters)

- Using different mice polling rates

- Running the game at different resolutions

- Undervolting / overclocking the CPU

- Capping my FPS to 60, 120, 240.

- Making sure Battleye has all permissions granted and does not interfer with any app on my computer

- Making sure no background app is taking up resources

- Running the game as Admin

- Multiple steam launch commands

- Running the game both through Steam and the DZSA mod launcher

- Completely factory resetting my PC

- Switching the drive on wich DayZ is installed
- HAGS on / off

The exact process i used for each of these tweaks is simple. Close the game, apply the setting, (in the event of a BIOS or restart required setting, I would restart) and then load back into the game spin around for about a minute to make sure everything is loaded in and stable, then begin the performance capture. Sit perfectly still with no inputs looking one direction while the program captures the frame graphs.

Some tweaks on here increased my average FPS, but did not fix my issue.

Exact build version (optional)

Where did it happen?

Official

Is it modded?

No

Expected result

The expected result was that a specific setting on my computer would help the issue, but no such setting extisted, leading me to believe it is an engine level issue. If anyone else could replicate this issue that would be amazing.
