this issue persists across both PC Steam and the Windows Store versions, and community and official servers. i have done everything below for both versions each separately.
microphone does not work at all. i launch game and go to settings, yell into mic and no sound bar that usually shows when in the audio tab. i have done every fix listed from this year to 2015(?) and nothing has worked EXCEPT reinstalling windows which was only TEMPORARY. i got it to work for one play session, got off and turned off my computer, tried again next day and it didnt work. i reinstalled windows AGAIN and it STILL didnt work. i am genuinely at a loss, for such an integral part of the game to not work and it be an issue for years and the only known fix is to reinstall your OS?? and even then it stopped working for me.
i have tried usb-c mics, bluetooth mics, wireless headsets, wired headsets, wired mics, 0.7mm jacks just abt every type of microphone on the consumer market, control panel settings, windows settings, steam settings, reinstalling windows, checking audio drivers, NVidia control panel settings, ive upgraded and downgraded from windows 10 to 11 back to 10, this issue has persisted since i bought the game in 2024.
