On the official Nasdara map, the optic BUISOptic cannot be attached to the SCAR-L
(class SCARL / SCARL_Black). The attach action is not offered at all, as if the weapon
had no compatible rail.
The same optic attaches normally to SCAR-H (SCARH / SCARH_Black), to M4A1, and to any
other weapon that exposes a "weaponOptics" slot.
Root cause (found by extracting the shipped configs/scripts from the 1.30 stable client):
1) dta\scripts.pbo -> scripts\4_world\entities\itembase\inventory_base\buisoptic.c
BUISOptic.CanPutAsAttachment() uses a hard-coded whitelist:
if (parent.IsKindOf("M4A1_Base")) return true;
if (parent.IsKindOf("SCARH_Base")) return true;
return false;
IsKindOf() evaluates the CONFIG hierarchy.
2) The Nasdara SCAR-L config (nasdara\addons\weapons_nasdara.pbo ->
firearms\scarl\config.bin) declares:
class SCARL_Base: Rifle_Base // NOT SCARH_Base
class SCARL: SCARL_Base
class SCARL_Black: SCARL
so parent.IsKindOf("SCARH_Base") is always false for SCAR-L.
3) The intent seems to have been the opposite: dta\scripts.pbo ->
scripts\4_world\entities\firearms\automaticrifle\scarl.c declares
class SCARL_Base : SCARH_Base
(script-level inheritance), but that does not affect IsKindOf(), which reads the
config hierarchy.
Slot compatibility itself is fine: BUISOptic has inventorySlot[] = {"weaponOptics"}
(addons\weapon_optics.pbo) and SCARL's attachments[] contains "weaponOptics".
Only the script whitelist blocks it.
