Before describing the issue, I would like to point out that it is completely unrelated to the problems that were known in 2018, 2019, and 2021. I have reviewed previous support tickets, and what I am referring to now is something entirely different.
-------------------------------------
Since update 1.30, infected regularly get through player-built fences (wall and gate). They run at the closed fence as if it was an open passage and go straight through its geometry to the other side without stopping. This happens with a fence wall without a gate (no metal wire) as well as with a closed gate. In 1.29 infected could not pass through fences.
Note: watchtowers are NOT affected. In exactly the same situation infected do not pass through a built watchtower wall, they treat it as an obstacle. So the problem is specific to the Fence.
I tested it on a fully vanilla server, both with and without an admin tool loaded, and the result was the same. I also tested it on several different computers and completely independent servers (my local server, a live community server and a friend’s server on his own machine). Everywhere infected pass through fences, but not through watchtowers.
I also made a modded door that is based on the vanilla Fence class (it inherits Fence and its gate logic), and infected pass through it in exactly the same way, so the issue follows the Fence class itself.
What I tried that did NOT help:
Removing the new navmesh transform part from the Fence config:
class Fence : BaseBuildingBase
{
class Navmesh
{
delete TransformParts;
};
};
Making the Fence update the pathgraph region the same way BaseBuildingBase (Watchtower) does:
modded class Fence
{
protected override void UpdateNavmesh()
{
SetAffectPathgraph(false, !IsOpened());
g_Game.GetCallQueue(CALL_CATEGORY_SYSTEM).CallLater(g_Game.UpdatePathgraphRegionByObject, 100, false, this);
}
}
In both cases infected still pass through the fence.
