I’m experiencing consistent, severe FPS drops on a specific official DayZ server while playing with a small group (5 players online) The frame rate loss is significant and happens reliably every time I connect to this particular server instance. Notably, when I open the pause/escape menu — which is transparent and doesn’t hide the game world behind it — my FPS immediately recovers and runs smoothly. As soon as I close the menu, the frame rate drops again. This suggests something tied to active input processing or real-time game-state handling on this server is causing the bottleneck, rather than a GPU rendering issue, since the world is still fully visible and rendering during the menu-open state.
I’ve ruled out client-side causes: the issue does not occur on other servers running the exact same map, with either more or fewer players connected. Multiple people in my group have independently confirmed the same lag on this specific server, while all of us experience normal performance elsewhere. This strongly points to a problem isolated to this server instance — whether that’s degraded server hardware, a memory leak, an inefficient background process, or some other server-side bottleneck.
Given the consistency and reproducibility of this issue across multiple players and sessions, I’d appreciate it if someone could look into this server’s health/performance, or let me know if there’s a known issue affecting it. Happy to provide the server name/ID and further details if needed.
