What happened?

I was playing on "4214| Europe - DE," and after 10h of grinding, I got fully geared.

I got to the military base above the airport when I found a better backpack; after I changed it for mine, the latter disappeared with all my loot inside.

This thing made me think I should take a break from this game

Reproduction steps

I replaced my backpack with a new one and all my loot disappeared together with the old backpack.
