Hi DayZ Development Team,

I’ve been a dedicated fan and player of DayZ since its early release days, and it remains my favourite game of all time.

I recently set up a Steam Machine to play DayZ from the couch. While the game runs fantastic, playing with a controller on Steam feels clunky because the UI remains strictly locked to the mouse-and-keyboard inventory grid.

Key Point: The native console UI, radial quick-bars, and controller inventory management already exist on PC in the Xbox / Microsoft Store PC version of DayZ.

Since this controller interface is already built and working on Windows, enabling it for the Steam version would be a huge quality-of-life improvement for TV setups, Steam Machines, and Steam Deck users.

Suggested Request: Please add an option under Settings > Controls (or automatic input detection) on Steam that allows PC players to toggle on the official Console UI, radial menus, and controller navigation layout.

• Connect a controller to a PC running DayZ on Steam (or launch on a Steam Machine / Steam Deck setup).

• Launch the game and open the inventory or action menus.

• Observed: The game forces the user to navigate the full keyboard-and-mouse inventory grid using mouse emulation, which feels unintuitive on a gamepad.

• Expected: An option in the settings menu (or automatic controller detection) to enable the native Console HUD, radial quick-bars, and gamepad inventory navigation already present in the Xbox/MS Store PC edition.
