What happened?

The snow is visible around the scope, but not in the sight. This behaviour may or may not be identical for rain.

Reproduction steps

1) Let it snow

2) ADS with a scope

3) Observe there is a lack of snow particles in the reticle

4) Additionally, observe some performance reduction while scoped

Exact build version (optional)

Where did it happen?

Official

Is it modded?

No

Expected result

You would expect to see snow particles in the sight picture; however, it is clear sight picture with no particles.

Do you usually only see performance reduction when you scope into a forested area? Or even while using the eye focus zoom in the same scenario?

I get a huge performance dip when I do this, and I've figured it's caused by the anti-aliasing on the trees.

No matter what setting I have it on, I get massive FPS loss zooming into a forest, whether through a scope or the eye focus zoom.

It only happens when zooming in, never looking normally. Only fix is turning anti-aliasing off completely.

I guess AA is just a huge hit with that many trees. Still odd it only happens on zoom, It's almost like they're loading the highest LOD possible even if they are still super far in the distance.

Hello stranger, I did not notice the performance reduction when using eye focus zoom, only when scoping with a weapon. I should add that at the time, I had been running my computer hot (temperature) and it had been on for a while before I played DayZ, so that's likely why I noticed the reduction. I have since played on a fresh boot, and I did not notice the performance reduction, although if I pay attention I can notice that it is slightly less performant.

I had antialiasing set to extreme in both scenarios. (I don't believe these are my normal settings though.)

The issue is not limited to scopes; but any glass. See video:
