Currently, mortars can be utilized in an unrealistic way in a building with a wall/ceiling that has a thin FireGeo collider material. A mortar operator can fire the mortar through the wall/ceiling at a target or general area as a means of preventing the enemy from locating their firing position. The only draw-back from such a strategy is that penetrating the material reduces the velocity and, thus, the range of the mortar projectile. However, the mortar operator can fairly easily account for this reduced range, or even use it to their advantage if in close proximity to enemies. Typically, if an 80mm/82mm mortar round were to penetrate these surfaces prior to exceeding the arming distance, the safety device was activate and the fuse would be smashed upon contact, rendering it inert. I suggest that when a mortar penetrates an object prior to reaching its arming distance, the projectile still penetrates the material as it currently does, but becomes inert and just results in a dirt or dust particle effect upon landing.
I've provided an example of how mortars can abuse the penetration system using one of the structures w/ a 3mm metal roof w/ a high clearance. As you can see, I'm able to use the structure to my advantage by keeping my position hidden from any potential enemy while managing to utilize the mortar at a relatively decent range, which seems a little unrealistic IMO.
