Description

friend of mine is getting ctd (STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN) after 2.22 on loading into a multiplayer mission, single player seems to work (only tried virtual arsenal)

we tried the following so far:

- default launcher parameters & messing around with them

- mods & no mods

- community server & official servers

- switching the game language from korean to english

- clearing arma cached files in %appdata%

- verifying game files

- updating gpu drivers

- trying different audio devices

- new in game profile

- reinstall
- disabling overwolf
- disabling nvidia overlay
- disabling steam overlay

but the issue persists

there is no .mdmp file generated on crash

Procdump dump is useful, but does not match your original report of stack overrun. It crashes while trying to check if it should clean up the MPMissionsCache folder, it crashes because something is wrong with the filepath.

I found these in the dump

    LOCALAPPDATA=C:\Users\°íÁ¤¸ð\AppData\Local

    C:\Users\고정모\AppData\Local\Arma 3\AnimDataCache\
    C:\Users\고정모\AppData\Local\Arma 3\Arma3_x64_2026-08-29_22-11-40.rpt

That is a.... somewhat unusual username you have there. That is triggering the crashes.

Alright, creating a new windows account (with english characters) fixed the issue.

It was working prior to 2.22 with the same user, his username is "고정모"

Yeah normal Korean characters are supposed to work. But what I see in the dump just looks like corrupted garbage.
Thank you, I will try to reproduce with that name
