Intermittent Multiplayer server browser hangs and complete game freeze after a long Arma 3 Redux session
Description
I played Arma 3 Redux for approximately three hours without any major problems. After the mission ended, I returned to the main menu, which was still running smoothly.
The game then completely froze when I clicked on Multiplayer and the server browser/search started loading. The game stopped responding to all input, including Alt + F4. I had to terminate the Arma 3 process manually through the Windows Task Manager.
The complete freeze has not occurred again so far. However, I still occasionally experience noticeable delays or hangs while searching for servers, both in the Arma 3 Launcher and in the in-game Multiplayer server browser.
Steps to reproduce
Start Arma 3 through Steam.
Open the Arma 3 Launcher, select a server and join the game.
Play an Arma 3 Redux mission for an extended period.
Return to the main menu after the mission ends.
Open Multiplayer and start searching for servers.
During the original incident, the game became completely unresponsive at this point.
Expected behavior
The server browser should search for and display servers without prolonged delays or freezing the game.
Actual behavior
Server searches occasionally hang or respond slowly. During the original incident, the entire game froze and could only be closed through the Windows Task Manager.
Additional findings
The launcher logs contain recurring messages such as:
Subscribed query is still running. Steam connection issue?
The Steam.Native log also contains assertion failures and initialization errors.
These messages may be related to the intermittent server browser delays, but their connection to the complete in-game freeze has not been established.
The Arma 3 RPT log documents the mission ending and the subsequent transition to another scene. It does not contain a clear error identifying the cause of the freeze.
