In the Badlands update, accessing Irrigation Tunnels requires players to craft and deploy a rope ladder. Currently, these access points are entirely empty by default on world start/wipe.
I propose adding a dynamic/randomized spawning system for these entrances:
Pre-deployed Ladders: A small randomized chance for certain Irrigation Tunnels to spawn with a pre-existing/intact rope ladder already attached upon fresh server start/wipe.
Partial Crafting Loot: For tunnels without an intact ladder, spawn partial crafting ingredients (e.g., rope, wooden ricks) inside or directly around the tunnel entrance.
Rationale / Why it's needed:
Enhanced Environmental Storytelling: Makes the world feel inhabited and logical, showing that other survivors previously used these underground routes instead of every tunnel being artificially reset.
Reduces Repetitive Grind: Provides occasional dynamic encounters and early-game rewards for players exploring subterranean areas without forcing a full crafting loop every single time.
Adds Map Variety: Keeps tunnel access fresh and unpredictable between server wipes or map resets.
Suggested Implementation:
Add a low-percentage chance (e.g., 10–20%) in map event/spawn tables for an Irrigation Tunnel entrance to generate with a ready-to-use rope ladder.
Include rope and ladder crafting components in the surrounding ambient loot tables for underground/tunnel entrances.
